G'day folks. I have just bought a 1980 C-22 in great condition to sail the lakes in the US Midwest. The boat has the Catalina mast-up system (basically the tiller mounted device with roller extension), but raising the stick is still a chore for 2 adults. I've stepped masts on E-Scows but my background has been mostly with fixed keel/mast yachts in NZ. Has anyone successfully used the McGregor winch system on a C-22 ? It looks good, and (almost) guided us to buy an M26S but we do like the C22. we have seen several home-built systems which look promising, but the McGregor system is effective (on their boats) and at a reasonable cost. We'd appreciate any advice on this or some other 'off the shelf' winchable system. BTW, we have a roller furler attached the the sharp end. Cheers...
