Russ, I apologize, somehow your last response slipped by me. Measurements for the baby stays and gin pole I can get for you this weekend, pictures might have to wait until spring (unless all the ice on my boat melted, I'll let you know). I will head out Saturday am to look at it and at least measure. Again, sorry for the delay. Dave

Mast raising

Thanks, Dave. I understand and will appreciate the measurements. Pics would be helpful, but I fully understand the weather issues. Although it's been over 60 the past two days in Omaha. Thoughts of Spring, but I know it will be a while before I can start working on the boat.

Measurements

Baby stays attach to the mast 62" above base of mast. Deck attachment point(s) are exactly in line (fore and aft) with pivot bolt on mast, and 13.5 inches outboard from edge of mast plate (lines up exactly with where the diamond non-skid changes to a strip of smooth surface). Gin pole attaches to a reinforced pad eye 5.5 inches behind front cleat. Gin pole length is 60" Baby stay total length, counting mounting bits and all, approx. 68". Baby stays have some slack as you start up, and then gradually tighten as mast approaches vertical. ie they don't prevent all side to side movement, put just keep it under control. Also, I don't really think any of the measurements are critical except the alignment of the mounting plates on the deck. As I mentioned, the dealer here just cuts down a MAC system and makes it fit. I would probably do the intallation with the mast up, and make the baby stays relatively snug there, knowing they will be slacker when mast is down. It is really much simpler to use than to explain - I will try to get you some pictures soon (except it is snowing again as I write this). If you want, contact me directly at jdmahan'removethis'@yahoo.com (remove the 'removethis', including quotes), and I can give you more info. Dave
