mast raising hunter 19

Have a problem
the mast raising pole bent and I cant use it
tried to lift the mast by hand and was successful but the mast doesnt seem to set on the platform like it did last year
any suggestions?
Can I use the mainsheet and attach it to the jib halyard?
Do I need to tighten the forestay more to seat the mast?

You should use a buddy. Don't do it alone. Trust me.
Attach the shrouds and forestay so they're loose.
You walk it up like Iwo Jima and he pins the forestay when it reaches him.
Then tighten all the shrouds.

thanks I will do that
does the mast usually snap into place or does the forestay hold most of the weight
The mast seems to tend to tilt back even when in place
