Mast pad eye

I need to install a mast pad eye for a whisker pole on my H26. What kind should I get and aproximately how high up should I put it? I use a self furling 100% jib.

Height?

Mickey, the height would be dictated by the height of the tack clew on the jib. I expect it should be perpendicular from the mast to the clew. That's the way it was on my last boat.
