I tried to remove my old antenna coax and had a new coax tied to it. When we pulled downward the old coax became jammed between what I assume is the anchor light wires. For fear of pulling anchor lite wires loose, i pulled back up to retrieve my new coax.My Question is....what could have the old coax been jammed on ? Is this coax run through some form of conduit inside the mast? If so, can i drill new holes on the other side of the mast and drop some wire and weight down and fish it thru?

Try this!

The possibilities to jam your coax are almost endless. Wires, screws, rivets, bolts, halyards, etc. Cut off the connector for your old coax. Cut a 12-16" piece of duct tape and lay it down sticky side up. Lay your old coax on it lengthwise halfway along one edge. Butt the end of the new coax along the edge of the other half of the tape and roll it up like a joint...er...uh...like a cigarette...yeah that's the ticket. This assembly should slide right on through any constrictions (cable clamps excepted) all the way back to your radio. You can then assemble a new connecter at the terminus. This trick works equally well to replace a halyard. Regards,
