I need to replace the steaming light (halfway up the mast). It takes an old style push & twist bayonet lamp. But when I went to the store for a replacement, there were several combinations of amps, watts, and candlepower to choose from in the same physical size group. I couldn't figure out which was the right choice. Unfortunately, there is no marking visible on the old lamp Anyone else had to replace this lamp? And how about for the masthead light? This is for a 79 H30. Thanks! Kevin F.

It is a ....

GE1416 on my 1979 H37C (West Marine #297277 page 576), but I elected to change the complete assembly with the Perko replacement (WM #281212 page 589) since the contact was completely corroded in the socket. For the masthead, I installed the Aqua Signal series 40 Tri-Color/Anchor lights (WM #106155) which can be detached from the base that is permanently mounted on the mast top "without any tools". Very convinient for servicing when your hanging in the air, 45 feet from the deck. This allowed me to replace the old tri-color and separate anchor light and replace two 2 conductor cables with one 3 conductor. Richard 1979 H37C Rhapsodie

Working on replacing them all

At the end of last season, replaced the steaming light at mid-mast with new Perco from West Marine. Biggest problem was bolting it to the mast hanging in a chair. Last week-end, I replaced the stern light as the clear shield which was white, fell apart as if dry rotted. Used the existing plate to bolt new stern light. New week, it is back up the mast to get the anchor light which is out. Replaced the bulb, which is a very short base bulb, and it lasted one week. This is a job I keep putting off. Good luck 1979 Hunter 30'

Poor light

On my H-33 I replaced the steaming light with a perko combination deck/masthead (steaming light) I was not happy,The tiny screws could not be removed in the brand new unit right out of the seeald container, and had to be drilled out. Try that up the mast. It also had no reflector to increase output. Im looking in to L.E.D. for a new anchor light.
