1988 hunter 23, recently aquired, mast light does not work properly, i came on once when i adjusted the three piece plastic parts, by jiggling, black base, clear "lens" black top, circular. the fact that i could get it lit once, seems to suggest, not necessarily, that there is power to the top off the mast and that the bulb is ok, probably a 18 year old loose connectgion, problem is i cant seem to open it up. it twists maybe 1/4 inch, that is the top black piece and lens to the base, but i am afraid to use too much force for fear of shattering it. there has to be a way to get in there without taking apart the top of the mast so folks can simply replace the bulb? suggestion?? is this like opening an asprin bottle when i get old and arthuritic? thanks for what is a silly qustion, not as silly as it would be if the mast were stepped and i were typing this from a bosun's chair on rolling seas.
