Recently noticed a discoloration like rust a the base of the mast on the deck area. Another Beneteau owner said that the mast is filling with water and that I should drill holes in the base of the mast to allow the water a place to drain. We have in mast roller furling main sail on our Oceains 400 yr. 1996. Any suggestions on this, will this do harm? If it is correct thing, how high up from the base should the hole/s be, how many, what size. Thanks Jeffrey Mystiko js2@adelphia.net
