I measured mine at 28 feet and 10 inches last time I had it down. It
appears to be the original one on my 1971 Vega, though of course there
might have been variations in other years? (I don't know the exact
height of the mast step above the waterline, so I round it up to assume
the mast height over the water is no more than 35 feet--for when I need
to clear a bridge.)
