I have a high SWR on my antenna and so the VHF doesn't get out well. I replaced the antenna...no change...so I think it's either the connector or the feed line. What I can't figure out is how the feed line gets from inside the mast into the boat. Can anyone help?

On my boat the antenna lead came out at the base of the compression post below the teak and holly floor

Presuming it's a deck stepped mast, there are only two ways:
1. behind the cabin liner if there is one, or, if no liner,
2. through the compression post under the cabin sole.
