Hunter 27_89-94 Durango. Colorado
I've got an '89 Hunter 27, (Actually it's THE 27 shown in the old Ad photo), It's got the fractional rig with internal halyards. Recently the old plastic coaming on the Main halyard exit hole on the mast gave way. I was wondering if anyone had had this occur and what options were used to fix the problem. The opening in the mast is somewhat long and I'm thinking that getting another plastic replacement piece won't be easy. I don't even know if that old "Z-Diffusion" rig is still made. I've looked at SS replacement plates, but the ones I've seen online seem bit wide and a shade short. Of course, I'm way up in the Rockies and sailboat supply stores are somewhat rare here, so I can't just go out and handle one. I thought I'd ask some of you guys about it before I go and order something that might or might not work. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure what your

halyard exit plate looks like, but I replaced some on a previously owned C&C. I found a wide variety of them at Annapolis Performance Sailing and they are a great place for hard to find hardware. See link below or try this: http://www.apsltd.com/search_results.asp

Try RigRite

I have found that Rig-Rite has things like this. Their website exhibits pictures with dimensions. Try www.rigrite.com and you should be able to find an exit plate to duplicate your original equipment.
