I think I know the answer.......
I don't believe that the 222 was originally configured with a CDI. My 192 is similar and still retains the original style furler. The jib was not hanked on or furled around the forestay. The jib was equipped with a wire luff and is set flying BEHIND the forestay. Luff tension is key for this to succeed, hence the halyard winch, even on the little 19. The furling drum on my boat attachs to a U-bolt behind the stem fitting and the halyard block attachs to the fitting you show in your picture on the mast. Since your boat is now equipped with a CDI furler, which is installed over the forestay, the previously mentioned hardware would be unused.Hope this helps, Dave
