Mast deck plate removal help on Macgregor19

Hello All

I need to repair fiberglass around the Mast deckplate/tabernacle

you see me very confused with the middle screw. I can't see nowhere accessible a bolt

anyone of you have an idea on how to remove the deck plate and most importantly re-install it after fiberglass repairs!

My Mac 26S had a similar foot bracket but there was nothing in the center hole. I'm wondering if the center bolt goes into a threaded fitting in the top of the compression post? The 26S has no compression post, so that would explain why it doesn't use the center bolt.

Hi Max,

I'm having the exact same issue.
I need to swap out my deck plate / tabernacle for another one to suit my new mast raising system.
I can't figure out how to remove the center bolt into the mast compression post.
The bolt just seems to spin.

How did you manage to remove the bolt?

Never had mine off but wondering does the compression post turn when you turn the bolt ? If so you may need to somehow hold or anchor the post and unscrew the bolt.
Maybe ???

The compression post doesn't spin.
Since I can't work this bolt out I may need to cut the sides off the old deck plate and cut a big hole in the new plate to accommodate the center bolt and mount the new plate on top of the old one. Not sure if the center bolt will tighten again.
