Hello all!
Ihave founda potential replacement mast for my 1986 hunter 34. It comes from a Cal 33. On rig-rite's site, the Cal 33 had an NG-51 Isomat mast. It's dimensions are
7.48 by 4.92 inches. On the same site, the Hunter 34 is listed as using an NG-46 Isomat mast. Its dimensions are 7.09 by 4.72 inches. The mast for sale is listed as 5 by 7 inches. It is the proper length and has a double spreader rigging.

Can I definitely/probably/no never use this as my replacement?

Thanks
Neil Foster

things to check

sail track
mast step compatibility
swept/straight spreaders
fractional / masthead rigs
halyard entrance / exit locations
halyard diameters / types (wire to rope, all rope)

Can anyone think of more?

woah! this doesn't make sense.

Are you talking about a mast from one of the old Lapworth-designed Cal 33s? If so, I seem to recall that being a keel-stepped mast. Am I wrong here?

It seems to me that you're going to have too many issues with a mast designed for another boat. Your chainplates are not going to be where the Cal's chainplates were, which means that you're never going to be able to tune that rig 100%, which means you're probably always going to be plagued by weather helm. (Or even worse, Lee Helm.)
