Is anyone near their O'Day 28 to tell me the size of the mast so I can purchase a Universal Mast Boot accordingly? The boot requires size options for the mast, assuming it is talking about circumference, and I can't find what I need while searching the forums. Unfortunatley, my manual is up at the boat, 41/2 hrs away and I am purchasing it on the way up to the boat. Thanks.

check rig rite, they have the mast sections and they probably sell the boots although I am using a cut to fit and glue together boot on mine.

If you have the ISOMAT Spar it is section NG-31 and measures 6.28" x 4.10"

Circumference is 17.25"

Hey,

I gave up on trying to make the boot fit properly. I just use mast boot tape. Easy to apply and no more leaks!

I agree completely.

I purchased a mast boot specifically for my isomat mast. I does not fit well.

Purchased it from Rig Rite whom I believe has the worst customer service I have ever been exposed to. I see from the internet that Rig Rite has had some financial problems and has undergone ownership changes. I would put a group sailors together to purchase it if I was a few years younger. The sailing industry deserves better. (D&R Marine is an example of an asset of our sport)

Interesting! I tried to order from them last Summer. The person who answers the phone (sometimes) and takes orders (when she feels like it) and actually enters the orders (if she gets around to it) shouldn't be allowed anywhere near customers. I got the impression this was a group of people just too disorganized to be successful. This company should be a goldmine.

I like the response if you should happen to have a question. She quickly asked if you have a part number or not. Questions are not allowed.

Anyone checking on an order is directed to a dead end answering machine and told to leave the order number and phone number. I never got a call but eventually the part did come.

I made my maiden voyage from Manitowoc to Sheboygan yesterday. All down wind. Never had a chance (or needed to) pull my Main out of the sail locker. I bet that North wind kept most every one in down by you.
