Any comments on using a Battcar system on a H37c. I see that there are a few systems available, Harken, Tide Marine, Antal etc.etc. I'm assuming the mast is original; does anyone know what brand was supplied for the 1980 H37c. Thanks Robert

The battcar system is great,

I have used them on several boats, and like them very much, there is no reason that would prevent using them on a 37c, i just cant afford one yet. I deliver a 45 footer, easy to hoist and very easy to drop. you need to control the drop because it will fall down if you let it go. The batt cars and full battens make it a little harder to fold the main because the battens fit pretty tight and keep pressure on a bit but much easier than without the battcar. it will mean having the sail fit with slides, most lofts do the job, its an easy install on the mast side just slip it and and tighten the screws. good luck. Oh the rules here say --- let us know how well you like it if you do it.

Batts and things

Thanks Ed, I presently have 3 full battens, how many is usual when using a BattCar system.??? I have a long list of " to do's " as I have just demolished the forepeak, sink area and all cabinetry forward of the Galley and removed the port main bulkhead. Sails will be going to the loft next week to see what can be done and at what cost. Robert

your set up should work fine.

I think i would worry about all that before i fooled with battcars systems. Your sails should work fine.
