Mast Access Cap

While launching/stepping the mast, the yard took the access cap off the port side near the bottom of the mast..AND OF COURSE LOST IT.
Not only that But they deny it...:cussing:
So now I need to find a replacement any suggestions?

Try calling Catalina at 727-544-6681. Someone there should be able to see if they have any or point you in the right direction.

Thanks, I will give that a try, I checked Catalina Direct with no luck and Electrical tape just does not look that great!
I love an organization that denys! ;)

Jack, I have called Catalina yachts and spoke with Ken, who was helpful and gave me some suggestions. I need to determine who built the mast and size of the hole!
I will be at the boat this weekend and check it out!

I was able to determine size and called Catalina Yachts again and got Kelly, who is a can do person! I supplied her with the dimensions and she said she would take one off a mast in the yard and ship it to me...TODAY! Am very pleased.. For $5.00.. I can,t lose!

Interesting question of someone gets a photo -- where is this access hole / cap? I looked at my mast this weekend and no such thing. Would be nice when you step the mast to disconnect wires.

This access panel on my mast is an 1 1/2 " in diameter hole on the port side about 12" up from the base. When I spoke with Kelly at Catalina yachts she said that the 310 has a round hole and the 309 has an oval. Maybe you got cheated? Or they lost it..like my cap! ;)...

Is that opening large enough to be of practical use, ie. check and correct wiring connections?

Yes, There is enough wire to be able to "Pull" the wires out-GENTLY and than stuff them back in- GENTLY

I got the access cap in the mail yesterday from Catalina Yachts.. I will go to the boat and see if it fits!..
Long Story, I would demand my Money back if I were you! ;)

My 2001 doesn't have it either. Mine has the furling main. May have something to do with it. Different supplier?

We do Not have a furling Main.. I have no Idea, from what I understand there were 2 Mast/Boom Makers- Selden and Sparcraft/Z Spar. Ours is a selden. you can tell the difference by on the end of the boom is a blue sticker saying spar craft/Z spar or something similar.
