Massachusetts Question: Travel from Scituate MA to Plymouth, MA

Due to a boat ramp closing in Plymouth, MA (my hometown), my boat hauler needs to use the Scituate public boat ramp to launch me. Travel back to Plymouth is about a 20 mile trek so I wanted to get any wisdom any has for that route from Scituate Harbor to Plymouth Harbor.
Any advice, experience, hazards known appreciated.

It's a simple trip. Same in the channel leaving Scituate (narrow) and go out to the safe water bouy before turning watching out for the lobster pots. The biggest danger is in the long trip into Plymouth that you know about.
