I have just bought a used DaySailer that is in great shape. Unfortunately I know nothing about the history of the boat. It is 164 inches in length and has a small brass plate that states it was manufactured by Marscot Plastics Inc. in Fall River Mass. for G.D.O'Day associates inc. The Hull no. and Class no. blocks are blank.??? If anyone has any information I would be very pleased to hear from them. Maybe a Javelin???

this is sean from li i am 16 yrs old an d i have an oday ospray thay i bought at a yard sale. i know nothing about it or anything. i see you have a couple of pices of hardware that say some things. i suspect that these "lost" boats are the degsinings of the other oday brother! there was 2 of them and it just may be that before the younger brother started with hit modern degsings(such as the 272 the 25 exc.)the older on was degsining these more traditional boats, if you do find any informating on any of these boats please send anything to wing 1514@aol.com

Sounds like a Javelin

Walter et al. - GD O'day is George O'day - the guy who designed the Daysailer and started O'day. Marscott built some (all?) of the daysailer models for a while. 164 inches is 13 feet and change, and so it ought to be a Javelin, a good little daysailer. As to why some of the blocks on the ID plate are blank, I can't tell you. Justin - O'day Owners' Web

Do you know what years Marscot Plastics were producing boats for O'day? I am trying to "date" the boat. I suspect it is 70's vintage. Am I in the ballpark? Also what did you think of Sean's idea that it might be a prototype?
