We bought an '87 Mariner (Stuart) and are having problems with a leak in the cabin at the edge of the centerboard trunk, apparently as a result of the centerboard knocking from side to side. Does anyone have advice about how best to seal the leak, and how to avoid a repetition of the problem?? thanks for any help -- Laura

Work from the outside

Laura - Hard to advise you as I don't know the details of how the Stuart boats are built. I would call up to Rockland and see what they can tell you if I were you. Whatever you do, remember you need to seal the break from the outside or the hull may absorb water and delaminate. Justin - O'day Owners' Web

thank you

Hi Justin, Thanks for your suggestions, which we'll follow. From a quick survey of this forum, it looks as though this problem with the Mariner arises with some regularity, unfortunately! We appreciate your taking the time to respond. Laura
