Hi Peggy, welcome back, happy to see that we will have access to a good expert!
Good question on the toilet paper to use before and I'm in hurry to see the answer....but another question I have is related to the best chemical to use? I'm used to add a few OZ of RV boss (http://www.bosstechnology.com/home.html) blue liquid after every pumpouts and I'd like to know which treatment is your preffered one? What else do you recommend to keep the toilet and holding tank as clean as possible?

My favorites are Odorlos Odorlos and Raritan K.O. , both of which are non-chemical products that work with nature to PREVENT odor instead of trying to kill it after it's already been generated. Raritan K.O. is a live aerobic bacteria product that digests the odor causing spores. However, it can only work in an aerobic environment, and many tanks aren't well enough ventilated (a whole subject all by itself that's been discussed in depth here many times...search the archives) to allow it to work. The active ingredient in Odorlos is nitrates, which promote oxygen release from the tank contents and often works in tanks where K.O. cannot. If it won't work, it's time to modify the tank vent to increase ventilation.

I answered the TP question in another thread that may be in the Ask All Sailors forum.
