For what it's worth to 28.5 owners-- I just replaced the original marine toilet with a Raritan PHII. It fit perfectly and the only hose that had to be changed was the water inlet hose. Thanks to Peggie Hall for the suggestion. Also took off the original 28 inch steering wheel and replaced it with an Edson 36"-- Looks great.

Lake Travis???

Lou, I keep my 1987 28.5 at Marshall Ford Marina on Lake Travis and I'm usually out there 2 or more days a week.I love my Hunter. First thing I had to replace was the head when I bought mine over 2yrs. ago. Went with the Groco w/bronze base and only had to drill 2 holes. Everything else hooked right back up.I hear the Raritan is a great unit.I think my wheel was already 36"...never measured it... but it seems plenty big.Is your jiffy reefing hooked up and do you use it? I'm looking for someguidance rigging and using mine. E-mail me if you care to compare notes. mhoney1@compuserve.com

Jiffy Reefing

Try finding a 1999 Harken catalog. They have an excellent diagram of how to rig a single line reefing system. Good luck.

What year 28.5?

What year is your 28.5? Mine is a 1985 with side discharge hose and a drain plug also on the side (pointing to engine). This original head required a small cutout in the wood trim along the juncture of the head's inside bulkhead and the shower pan. I've looked at all the marine toilet catalogs and the footprints don't seem right.

1986

Ernie-- Our 28.5 is a 1986 model. The footprint might have been slightly different on the new toilet but I was only concerned about height, width and depth as I evaluated which model to purchase. I did have to drill new holes for the lag screws that secure the toilet to the floor. Good luck-- Peggie Hall is a great source of info for these things-- Lou
