Marinas in South Carolina ?

Hi All, I am considering a move to the Myrtle Beach area of SC, And would like to have our boat nearby. A Google search has shown only a few marinas, all with no slips available. Are there slips somewhere in the area? (driving 25-30 miles is not a problem) We have a H 34, shoal draft with a 53'mast,so outside of a fixed bridge is necessary. Have an idea of monthly cost?

the best information from an ICW guide. The coast of SC in the Myrtle Beach area is not much open to good harbors.

Beach versus slip

Have you ever noticed that we want to say we sail at So-and-So Beach but usually any place that is a "beach" lacks a good harbor? Beaches are good places to walk and swim, maybe anchor for an afternoon but not a good place to stay overnight or longer. It's the nature of the beach/beast.

are at Little River Inlet, which is north of the MB area. Coquina Harbor is one, there are several others. It's mostly a powerboat area because it's all ocean out of one of the 2 intlets (Little River or Murrell's). The ICW is truly a ditch through the entire area, and at one point is called the "Rock Pile" because it's a trench through rock. Many a prop has met it's death in that stretch.South of Myrtle, however, the ICW is truly beautiful. Down to Charleston it runs through some of the most beautiful rivers along the entire route, but it's mostly motoring. Charleston is really the only viable sailing option in SC, IMHO.
