This summer in Boston....
WeI live aboard in Charlestown, right next to Boston. There are a bunch of marinas, but you may have a few problems securing a slip. I would recommend getting a slip for this year, and I will tell you why......SAIL 2000.The tall ships will be in for the week of July 10-16. They are expecting 5 million people, and as a boat owner, you have the opportunity to put yourself right in the middle of it. Slip costs are anywhere from 90/ft to 110/ft for the season. We will be at a brand new marina right downtown on the waterfront called Boston Yacht Haven. They have a pretty good web page. Check it out. Also, there is Constitiution Marina and Admirals Quarters in Charlestown. I would recommend the latter, as Constitution has a very poor dock design. Chances are it would be quite a hike to your slip. We are living there now, they seem to have an aversion to pumping out holding tanks and general customer service. It is a well protected marina, the best in Boston Harbor. They have no problem filling slips and it shows. There is also a marina over in Chelsea, accross Boston Harbor. I forget the name, but they too have a web page. Good views, more reasonable rates. But Chelsea can be suspect, so I would certainly look at the at one before putting a deposit down. Please contact me if you want any more info.SEANs/v HAVEN
