I have a 1983 Hunter 31. the bilge pump would turn on and pump about 1.5 liters overobard at about 20 minute interverals. Then the boat developed a serious starboard list. Well, not wanting to risk loosing my boat, I had her hauled and surveyed. Resulting in locating a hole about the size of a dime, port side 1ft. aft of cabin hatch and 2.5ft outboard of centerline. Cause of hole, when the manufacture fastened the cabin sole to the hull an imporper size bolt was used on this one single fastening location. The bolt was .25in longer than all other bolts, and it was tightened down aginst the hull. Over the years of use and vibration the contact point weakened the hull resulting in a breach. Before this expensive repair item happens to you boat I urge you to check all such fasteners on your boat. If you have one similar to my 1983 and find the same situation please send me an e-mail at sailor_83@hotmail.com Regrads,
