Manual Lever Pump -85 Hunter 31

Hello

I am the new owner of an 85 Hunter 31 and I am a bit disappointed that there isn't a manual pump built into the bildge. My old boat, an Aloha 27, had one with a nice lever handle that was in the cockpit that was very handy and easy to work.

Does anyone have any suggestions as far as good effective manual pump system in the event that the batteries fail to drive the electric bildge pump?

I have seen a H'31 that had a manual bilge pump. I think the previous owner ran the hose through the liner (1.5" hose) and past the water heater up to the aft lazarette.

Another option is to use a 1" hose with a bypass on the raw water intake that would allow the engine to pump bilge water. You would need a screen on the intake to protect the raw water pump, but this is another option.
