I have a 1984 Hunter 31 with a Yanmar Diesel Engine. Does anyone know where I can purchase a manual. I need one that is diesel maintenance & repair for idiots. I don't even know the amount or type of oil to put in the engine.
Sealoc writes a "Chilton's" style manual for Yanmars. Available and marine stores or thru on-line bookstores. I have both, and find the Sealoc to be generally easier to use, better illustrated, more explanatory, etc.
The Chilton manual is easy to read but the genuine Yanmar manual is directed at your specific model 2GM20 or 2GM20F. It has more detailed instructions for procedures. Using mine, I have changed oil in engine and transmission,replaced water pump impeller, removed & cleaned the heat exchanger, and adjusted the valves. Good luck.
