How was the job botched? I have a Henderson MK5 and like it. Mine is mounted in the aft corner of the starboard cockpit with the through bulkhead kit. Can pump and steer at the same time which could be a good thing. There is also a lot to be said for having a pump mounted on a piece of plywood so it can be taken to another boat that needs one. We did see one boat saved by another with a portable pump. Don't be tempted to save on money by purchasing a small pump. Little boats fill up and sink faster than big ones. Get a decent sized pump. There are rebuild kits available for the Henderson. I have one but in the 20 or so years I have had it I haven't had cause to rebuild it. WaltTo:

Henderson MK5 is a pretty good bilge pump. Keep it
and fit properly?
