Mantus 35lb too big for Hunter 34 in the Chesapeake?

I seem to be between the 25lb and 35lb. "Assuming" either fits on my bow roller (i'll change it if needbe), and I like to sleep well, has anyone put a Mantus 35lb on a 34' 12,000lbs sailboat, ? or is that too much of an overkill since Mantus's are reported to hold so much better than plows/bruce's/etc of the same specs?
thanks

mantus recommends a 25lbs. weight above the waterline is a concern of those that also consider their sailing performance. many don't care.

I upsized for my h356 to, I think, 35 lbs. The Hunter with it's high freeboard sails around on its anchor quite a bit. And when it reached the end of the yaw it would snap up quite hard. That was with an all chain or nearly all chain rode. A good snubber might have helped. Nevertheless, I think the extra size was better. For bigger races the anchor sat on the bottom of my slip.

We used a Mantus 35 pounder on our 11,000 pound 34 footer - without a windlass (40 ft 5/16 chain plus rope rode). It was a comfort, if occasionally a bit much to lift. Although I'd think in the Chessy you won't be in 60 feet of water very often.
