Am looking for parts for a model 751 Sealand / Mansfield Toilet. Specifically: 1) The Cam that fits onto the Flush / Dry-Bowl lever and 2) The Double Flap Valve that it actuates I've been hunting (sorry!) around and so far just keep getting told "no longer available, you'll have to buy a whole new head" which seems an awfully expensive way to replace a little piece of plastic. Alternatively, as its the cam that I really need...if someone could send me an accurate diagram or pic of what it should look like then am thinking that I could make one. Thanks, Scott

Sorry, but...

No mfr provides parts for more than 10 years after discontinuing any equipment model. SeaLand (not Seaway) bought out the marine division of Mansfield in 1984...they discontinued the 751 shortly afterward, and the 752 only a year after that. No parts have been available for either one for more than 10 years. If it's any consolation, you may THINK that the only thing it needs is a cam and a flapper valve...but they're just the first parts to fail. Even if you could find 'em, other parts are so worn by now that any one of 'em are about to fail. Salt and other grit have also scored and scratched the inside of the pump cylinder so badly by now that even if you could rebuild it and find the parts you need, there's no way the toilet can move flush water and waste anywhere near as efficiently as it did when it was new. So putting ANY money into it is would be playing Russial Roulette...your toilet has finally worn out! Everything has a lifespan...If it's any consolation, it did last 3-5x longer than any toilet in its price range (<$150) that's made today. If you want another one that will last anywhere as long, spend about $200 for a Raritan PH II. A lot of people here have done so...you won't see a single post from any of 'em that's anything BUT the highest praise.

Btw...

You'd be hard pressed to name one appliance in a home that's as old as your toilet. Nothing lasts forever...a $.50 part that's no longer available is usually the reason it had to be replaced. Count your blessings that it isn't a dishwasher or refrigerator...$200 for a new marine toilet is a major bargain compared to either one of those!

Its not worth your time

trying to repair the old head, peggie's correct. For what it is worth, I have a working Mansfield head that I will be replacing with a PHHB11 someday which now sitting in its box on the patio. You are welcome to any parts. The only thing is that the head replacement project is moving slowly, so it may be a long wait. David

David, E-mail me at scott.lowell@sympatico.ca When you do replace yours, if I'm still in need then we can touch base and perhaps drop a few of the smaller items in the mail. The cam problem isn't severe enough for me to be in any rush...it would just save closing the thru-hull to dry the bowl if it was working properly. Thanks, Scott
