I am interested in making a teak cockpit floor grate for my 1987 Hunter 34'. I had one on my last boat and it not only gives you much better footing but also gives the boat a much richer look. If anyone has any tips on the making of one I would appreciate your knowledge. My boat will appear to need three seperate pieces to line the entire floor.

I too am preparing to make a teak cockpit grate for my Hunter 25. I would be interested in any information or tips as well. The one thing I have been doing is buying old teak furniture ( old teak bed $10.00 from Goodwill) and sanding and cutting stringers and rails. I am planning on doing actual work at haul out this fall. The other bonus about installing this floor setup is that it will allow me to install electric bildge pump. As in your case my plan will be to make it in three sections. Please keep me posted on your project. Warmest Regards Larry
