Ruth and I finished a sail-pack for the Endeavour a couple weeks ago and I just finished uploading the pictures and dialog here....

We based part of it on Sailrite's plans, but modified them to some degree. To keep the height of the pack down a ....

... removable front was made. It goes on or off in a minute.

Placing front cover on video...

.. and really lowers the profile of the pack on the boom which I feel is a plus under sail. It still allows the sail to be easily reefed into the pack and put away at night.

If you finish late in the day and are going to start early and don't expect high winds over night you could forgo putting the front cover on, but it is easy and quick to do.

We also modified the ...

... battens and the way the lazy-jack lines attach to the pack to something that was similar to the pack we made...

...for the Mac.

Lots more pictures starting here....

and another walk-around video here.....

This is a fairly easy project to layout and sew, but I'd recommend buying Sailrite's video before starting,

I like the way you stopped your battens short of the mast. I made the mistake of making the batten pockets go all the way to the maston the one I designed last winter, and the jib sheets kept fouling in them as the battens were thrust forward with the sail raised. I ended up taking them out, and finally converted the pack into a plain sailcover for my C22.

That came out nice . Did you try shortening them first before converting it?

for those who do not have the will or the talent to sew one of these units there is the option of a "Mack Pack" ($840-920). This is about 1/2 the price of the average sail loft.
