Our Club has Raft-ups during the late Spring to early Fall. The wife and I take one of the later ones and our theme is Pirates of the Caribbean. This is our third year and the sails are reusable. The cannons are new this year. It looks a little better from a distance but it's hard for me to take a picture of myself on the lake.

The sails are a nice touch.

We participated in the FT Lauderdale X-Mas lighted parade a few years ago when the theme was Pirates of the Caribbean and dressed up the boat as a pirate ship. We made similar canons but out of plywood and tied them to the lifelines. I think they looked more on proportion placed on deck. We also built a crows nest and dressed up a maniquin with looking glass and all. We could have used the idea for the sails and iluminate them. We added a dressed up crew, over 5,000 lights and a powerful amplifier with large speakers playing the Hi, Ho tunes. A Honda 3000 powered the combo and Bacardi rum the crew. We got first prize for our size class. I like the idea of those sails.

You got to be careful with this stuff. Any Homeland Security bloke may not take too kindly to your pirrate ship and blow your smiterine out of the water. Yo ho ho al-maty.
