Make of pedestal on catalina 30 1988

Hello,

The nut holding the wheel is missing on the cat 30 I recently purchased. There is no label or markings on the pedestal.

Is there a common pedestal used on the 88's.

I found some 1" Edson nuts online which look to be correct fit.

I second Edson. This is an area where Catalina used quality parts from Edson.

You might want to just measure the diameter, pitch and go buy a Stainless acorn nut from local hardware store or McMaster-Carr. $50 for a nut seems pricey.

Absolutely, positively its an Edson system.............

If you go through the Edson catalog (available online) you will note that all replacement parts for the system are pricey. But, you pay the price for quality.

having dealt with garhauer and navpod, edson quality has escaped my notice. now, to the original questioner, has it occurred to you to call catallina yachts?

Thanks everyone for their info. I looked further and it is in fact an Edson pedestal. I found a replacement nut from Go 2 marine for $35. With shipping it is way expensive. No wunder mine was ripped off.
