Kevin: I have a 3 bladed Maxprop on a P42. The zinc has been changed as required by a diver during bottom scrubbing. Is there a maintenance that can be performed by a diver? The boat has been in the water 2 years, the bottom should hold up another 6 months. Am I risking any problems with the prop? The boat sees moderate use. Thanks for info you might be able to offer up.

Should be greased.

Dear Dan, Thanks for the note. Besides any zinc changes that take place I would also make sure the propeller has lubrication. Without grease the prop could see premature bearing wear. Three years on one greasing is as far as I would ever suggest. In most cases we suggest greasing to take place yearly or most two years. This proceedure can take place with a diver if needed. This is our web site address so that you can view the instruction booklet if you would like. www.pyiinc.com Please feel free to contact anyone of us if you need further assistance. Sincerely, Kevin
