Hello, Can anyone provide a photo of their main sheet orientation. I've been trying a few different configurations but I get a lot of resistance on it compared to boats I've had in the past. Appreciate any help I can get. Thank you

See if either of these help. If not, dig through my album in my signature. I'm sure I have more photos in there. I try to add all my photos from the boat to this album.

Thank you that is how mine is as well. Its odd that you have to do an up motion with the cleat as I find it catches by itself quite frequently and my boom does not swing out as freely as some of my prior sailboats, just feels like there is a lot of friction in place. Everything is new on my end, so ill study it a little more to see what I can find. thanks for the pics.

That cleat angle is designed to be adjustable. The cleat angle moves in relation to the block. Likely just need to loosen the bolt and adjust it.
On @brockangelo mainsheet block it has a bolt that can go through multiple holes.

Yeah you pull the line upwards when cleating it.

Rich Fox has a good solution to this in the 2017 C22 Tech Manual that involves attaching the mainsheet to the traveler with a cable effectively raising the block and the mainsheet cleat He used a 2 foot cable and a second line to support the block from the backstay to keep is from falling when running downwind. . You can decide what length works best for you.

There's also a double-ended mainsheet approach shown on Stingy Sailor's site.

And you do a combination of the two.

Awesome I will look into those, might be exactly what I need. Thanks

3:1 purchase is puney. A 420 dinghy is 3:1. Any Hobie cat runs 6:1 purchase, and many upgrade to 8:1. I run 8:1 on my F-24.

Yes, angle the cleat up until you can release it from any position in the cockpit--a safety basic, often overlooked.

Not sure how I missed this adjustable pin before. Put it in the forward hole and the clear angles up a lot better. I’ll still look at those options mentioned above.
