Greetings 23.5 owners. We're on the verge of completing a deal for a '95 model, stepping up from a 18.5' Sandpiper 565 (which, incidentally, has a very helpful message board too). We (2 adults & 2 pre-teen children) are quite excited at the prospect of more room! Anyway, has anyone added a mainsheet traveler? What hardware did you use? Has anyone reconfigured their mainsheet to end boom? I have this crazy idea of adding a traveler & an even nuttier idea of moving it to end boom, perhaps attaching it to my bimini like some of the overhead configurations of larger Hunters. Not doubt, the latter is an extremely dumb idea unless I seriously beef-up the bimini frame. Basically, I'm not thrilled about the sheet block location in the middle of the companionway entrance. Thoughts/suggestions? Thanks, in advance, for your input.

Checked archives... finally!

I checked the archives & see I'm far from the first newbie to ask this question! I'm definitely going to add one, probably a beefier track which will use the current post as a mid support & I'll find a way to support the ends. Making an arch seems too much of an effort & I doubt using the bimini frame is a good idea (though I'll think about it more after we take possession of the boat & I can kick the tires.) If anyone has installed a track & has a picture, I'd be much appreciative of seeing it.
