Ours was setup as a 3:1 and led to a cabin top
winch. On the 34, we have a smaller mainsail than you guys with fractional rigs, but 3:1 wasn't enough. I went with 4:1 and that works fine. And another thing that did, was to get rid of the twist in the main sheet at the rear of the traveler that is very common on 34s. We have eleven lines led to stoppers on the cabin top. Nothing but the pole hight is done at the mast. But a lot of that has to do with northwest weather. That Harken site is mind numbing. Sure glad I'm not looking to re-rig. Whew. A couple pictures of our main/traveler/turning block setup is on the third filmstrip of our web site, down near the bottom.
