I have no running rigging. So I am buying all new and replacing the cable halyards with rope. I only know one modification I want, and that is to run the main halyard to the cockpit. Has any one else done this? If so, what route did you bring the line and did you move the single speed wench from the mast to the cockpit somewhere?
Also if there are any other things that you would do for convienence concerning the running rigging or anything else for that matter, please let me know what you would do if you were in my shoes.

If I were in your shoes I wold spend

LOTS of time at the C30 Association website. www.catalina30.com

They have all sorts of information SPECIFIC to your boat, through all of its different production phases. They answer many of your questions and ones that you will soon be about to have. F'rinstance, routing of the main halyard back to the cockpit: either/or/both in the brochures or the manuals; earlier production boats didn't have that features, newer ones did because Catalina listened to their customers who wanted that.

And it's a winch, your significant other is the wench. :)

Terminology

Thanks for the c30 info and the correction on the winch wench thing. IT's funny because my boat is still sitting on the PO's dock while I rebuild the engine. I get the words right on here but not the pronuciation. Last time I was there was windlass this time it was gunwales. I am glad for the schooling so I will only look like a noob while I am a noob.

consider yourself no longer a noob (which, oddly enough, is a new one on me, newbie:)).
