Here's a picture.

The H27 owners will be able to help you rig the mainsheet. But this picture will give you some idea. It cleats off on port by the cabin-top winch. A lot of owners have replaced this arrangement with a mid-boom traveler that spans the seahood. (Great, submitted without the picture. Another senior moment. Please see next reply.)

Try again.

Here's that picture. I remembered to put the little check in the box!

No problem,

especially since we are family. My middle daughter is a Hart. :) Wish I could help with the backstay question. There are several in my marina but that's 90 minutes away. There were some fellows looking at one for sale last Saturday. I walked over and I think it had a center chainplate bolted to the transom, just a single backstay.

Engel, my H-27

has a split backstay with a separate plate bolted to the stern on corner close to the port and stern sides. Hope this helps. By the way, I, too, do not like the idea of a mainsheet in the cockpit.

Do You have internal halyards on the mast?

On my boat (Hunter 27 '82) I have internal halyards. The mainsheet runs back to the cockpit, through the two blocks on the cabin. and, up through three blocks on the boom (looks kind of like a traveller system).

Main Sheet

Did you have to reinforce the cabin roof to place the main sheet there? My Main sheet is in the middle of the cockpit. I would like to move it but I am afraid there is not enough strength in the roof to hold it.

Hi George,It was set up like that when I bought the boat.I'm not familiar with this set up.Not until we get in the water and start putting it together.I think there are lots of Hunter owners who know this set up.Engel
