I purchased my 22 with edson steering pedastal. I have trouble with staying out of the way during tack jibe. Has anyone ever raised the traveler to accomodate a wheel better?
when you tack, instead of staying behind the wheel. Or you could relocate the track to cross in front of the pedestal. But the obvious fix is to change over to mid boom sheeting with traveller near the companionway or on the house. This is an interesting variation on the tiller vs wheel controversy that pervades this forum. A wheel can be very limiting on a small boat.
