No way
While the foot of the Capri 22 and the Catalina 22 mains are similar, I am certain their luffs are significantly different. I checked the Catalina site for the specifications for the Capri 22. Strangely enough, Catalina itself lists the luff at twnenty-six feet, yet the mast is only twenty-five feet. This is either an obvious error, or the Capri 22 has one heck of a baggy main. However, in looking at the specs for the Capri 22 tall rig, I suspect these measurements are backwards, therefore the Capri 22 luff should be twenty-five feet with a mast of twenty-six feet. As the Catalina 22 luff is only twenty-one feet, it should be clear that one cannot use a Capri 22 main on a Catalina 22 whose mast may be only as long as twenty-four feet nine inches on the newer boats, although twenty-five feet on the older boats.
