I need a picture of a 1977 oday 23 mailsail sheet configuration. New boat to me and do not understand how the mainsail is rigged without a traveler.

I'm not sure about this but I think the mainsheet on the O'Day 23 is a block and tackle arrangement that was attached to a triangular plate on the backstay to a bale at the end of the boom. Check out this site:

Joe, the 1977-85 O'DAY 23 would have had basically the same mainsheet as your 222 originally did, maybe not exactly the same..... but pretty close! I'll attach a scan of the mainsheet diagram from the O'DAY 23 Manual that I have.
