H26 has double pulley located at base of mast on starboard side which is intergrated into deck. Pin that holds pulley in place has shifted back ,aft towards cockpit, allowing front of pin to come out of slot. This causes pulley to angle up and bind against hull when raising the mainsail. Has anyone else encountered this problem? What can I do to prevent movement of this pulley pin?

Tim, I'll look at mine in the morning and see if

I can help. I have my mast off so I can look real close. Ray

Try Cotter Pin

I had a similar problem only the pin was working forward instead of aft. I solved this by drilling a small hole 1/8" through the pin (pulley shaft). This hole was between the forward pulley and the fiberglass. In your case the hole would be between the aft fiberglass and the aft pulley. I then placed a cotter pin through the hole. I also used a SS washer that fit the pulley shaft next to the cotter pin to prevent the cotter pin from cutting into the fiberglass if it rotated while in use.

Tim, I could't find an E-mail for you so I hope

you might come back and visit this post. Gregs idea is probably the best fix short of grinding out and rebuilding the sheeve set-up and that would be a nightmere. If you do pin it then think about pinning in more than 1 spot. The idea of the washer is critical. Can you get access from inside the cabin for this area to modify or reinforce the pins? The last option is to mount a plate with the sheeves mounted on the plate and aluminium welding a tube into place on the bottom side area of the mast for the new halyard to rise in. This is really not a hard thing to do and not terribably expensive. Ray Bowles PS. E-mail me thru this site if I can Help.
