I'm having great difficulty getting the mainsail luff rope to slide up and down the mast easily - has anyone found a solution - I thinking of trying to get Harken cars retro fitted. John

Before you do ...
... make sure your topping lift is carrying all the weight of the boom. Your leech should be slack and cupped before lowering your sail, otherwise the sail is holding the boom and the cars are under tension.
