This is a diagram I found online of how someone has their Mac 25 mainsheet rigged:

In everyone's estimation, is this correct? I believe I have the sheet running from eye strap to small pulley on traveler block to swivel block to large pulley on traveler block directly to the clam cleat. I don't have a second swivel block adjacent to the clam cleat. I think it would work to provide much less friction if I had one, but I'm not sure how to rig it. Does anyone have any thoughts (or photos) on how to attach the block to the cleat (there is currently just an eyelet adjacent to the cleat) and on the correct way to run the sheet through the traveler block? Thanks very much.

Since no one else has answered,
That looks like the original configuration, the block is attached to the top of the pivot for the cleat and has a spring to hold it upright iirc.
Imho, this setup is a kluge at best and you would be better served by going to a midboom mainsheet and traveller or a mainsheet and eyebolt like the later 26's. Tim

Looks like tsmithpitt is having the same problem I am. These are pics of my mainsheet entering and exiting the clamcleat. I love the idea of the traveler, Timo42, but I would like a temporary fix, adding a block to the clamcleat. I can't quite see how I would go about doing that, though. Thanks guys.

Justin, if you remove the fairlead and find an eyestrap that fits the boltspacing where it mounted, then all you have to do is add a block and a spring to make it stand up. But the wear on the sheet is more likely from the cleat than the fairlead.

Tsmithpitt, it looks like your p/o added an extra block and a cleat on the boom. Try setting it up like the diagram, may work better. I would try to avoid having chunks of metal at the end of the boom, since with this setup it's easy to have an accidental jibe and there is no way to slow the boom on it's way across unless you add a couple of preventers:eek:
