Which blocks are used on the boom and down to the traveler? I know the blocks that are on the traveler car, but I don't know what the stationary block on the boom should be. It's missing on the '88 I bought. Need diagram or picture or explanation if anyone can help. Thanks!

A tackle is made of complimentary blocks to produce a predetermined purchase, Tell us what the blocks on the traveller car are, and we can fill you in.

The block on the traveler is original equipment. We're a couple of hours from the boat at present, so I would have to wait until I see it this weekend. Just thought someone would know what was original gear for the boom block so I could purchase it beforehand. Thanks.

On a boat the size of yours, I would be surprised if you have a six-to-one purchase for the main, unless you're mid-boom sheeting. A four-to-one is very likely and it is probably made up of two fiddle blocks, one with a cam cleat and becket.

If you want more leverage, you could use a triple block and a triple block with becket and cam-cleat.
