Has anyone lately modified the 40.5 humungous dinning room table to allow more space?
The last thread on the subject dates back to 2003, maybe someone has new ideas.

I have the same issue with my H376. I have considered a smaller top or putting a hinge in it.

Henry, Did You See This?

I don't remember if the 2003 thread covered the table in Attitude Adjustment or not. This was done by the prior owner and is a custom table that uses the original's clamping and reinforcement under it. It is rectangular and has a leaf on the port side too, which rotates all the way under the table when not in use.

Rick, can you get a picture of the port side when you have an extra moment? We keep trying to come with ideas for our huge table. Most of time we have it swiveled back against the forward part of the settee, but it would be nice to have it out with more room.

I'll have to wait until I'm at the boat next week but will be happy to do so.

Thanks Rick, I had seen that table on your boat a few years ago but had forgotten it. It is I think the way to go and will get an estimate from a boat carpenter next week. I will just store the monster table away for the next owner if he wants it, since it also doubles as a bed.

Best regards

Mine is in storage too, but I suspect it will wind up as a coffee table some day!

Ron, that's a first class job. Beautiful. The only thing I don't understand is the purpose of the lower table.

Henry,
After removing the factory installed table, I had a SS sleeve tube over the compression post with 2 flanges that supported the original table. I needed to do something with both. As a result, I built the lower table as a "cocktail table", and the upper as a table for dining, using the lap top, etc. Both provide unique use while allowing a more open salon area for conversation and people space. Both tables were made from a 9 ft piece of 1-1/2" teak. I made a pattern using construction paper and then gave it to the lumber yard to cut the teak, glue the pieces together and form the outline I'd given them. I did the final finish work and sealing at home. Installation also included routing out a 1" cut underneath the tables for a steel beam for extra support. I get lots of great reviews from friends who come aboard.

Photos Of 40.5 Salon Table

Here are some photos of the salon table the prior owner commissioned for Attitude Adjustment 2. It shows the starboard leaf, the port leaf, the underside, the port side leaf brace, etc.
