Main Sail Tack

We were setting up our jiffy reefing last night and realized that the Main sail tack was not secured to the boom or the mast.
I have a H31 1984.

I can't find any clear pictures of how the tack is attached.

Does anyone have a picture of their main sail tack attached.

Mainsail Attached

I'd guess that you had a long shackle that pinned in the hole in the top of the gooseneck, with the hoop running thru the tack of the mainsail. You could use one of the reef hooks until ya get a proper shackle..
Here is the one on my 34.. there is a quick release pin thru the tack which is between the cheek plates of the upper gooseneck assembly

gooseneck

its hard to see but it also looks like your c-clip is missing from the the gooseneck. a know issue on that gooesneck.

where do I find the "C" clip? I was thinking of a Long "D" shackle. Your thoughts?
