I had a small device that could be placed below the mailsail slides that would keep them in the track in the mast. It was a round device that would go into the track and was held there by a screw with knurled knob. The day before yesterday I went out on Lake Mead and found out the hard way that I had lost this device. I looked through the West Marine catalog and found nothing that looked like a replacement. Does anyone have any suggestions for a replacement part and a source for the part?

Confirm the make of your mast. On my 2002 H260 my mast was a US Spar. I purchased an extra one and I remember it being very inexpensive and the company was very fast at mailing the unit. Good Luck, Bob

I bought one there a couple of years ago - assume they still sell them but maybe not... Don

Here's the Web Link to buy it

You don't even have to call Julian. You can buy a Sail Slide Stopper part 4609 for $2.99 directly from US Spars over the internet. Click on the "Related link" below, and type in "4609" and they can ship it to you. I went to the lake and mine was missing only to find it later in the anchor locker.

There are two or three different sizes that will fit just about any mast track. Most suppliers (including West Marine) stock them. I keep a couple of spares on board all the time, as they can fall overboard. Peter h23 "Raven"

The real problem is that the stop can be lost overboard at all. On the Colgate 26 there is a pin attached to a lanyard that goes into the hole. On the H260 site Jim Seamans documents how to modify your track to hold the cotterless pin and lanyard. Unless the lanyard breaks you'll never lose the stop. No fumbling with the stop when reefing....
